Delhi the new fashion hub of India..

Delhi is moving on to be the next fashion capital of India…with the riot of colors splashed by the wills lifestyle fashion week this September delhi got another bright feather on its cap.
The show featured the likes of the designer duo Nikhil and Shantanu,Rocky S,Neeta Lola ,Anita Dogre,Ashish Pandey and many others…merging together the retro trends of the 60’s to the grace and elegance of the 80’s the show in April covered it all.
Another weeklong extravaganza had opened on the 21st of march with a gala show by designer Malini Ramani and was followed by Aparna Chandra, Manav Gangwani, Siddharth Tytler, Arshiya Fakih, Rabani and Rakha, Anju Modi, Rohit Gandhi, Rahul Khanna, Ritu Kumar, Ranna Gill and Rohit Bal.
The designer Ramani's collection a shift from her usual 'in your face bling' was a toned down overall look, with modifications in everything from the colours and cuts .The designer picked subtle shades of green, spicing these up with patchwork, ribbon embroidery, and appliqué work.
The top designer Rohit Bal's collection 'Koyla', inspired by the extremely precious natural resource, coal, floored the audience at the fashion week with its myriad shades of black, blue and brown splashed with dashes of green and pink.
Everything from short jackets to balloon skirts to long coats, dhotis and pants drew the attention of delhi towards itself.. Further, many celebrity guests like designer duo Meera and Muzaffar Ali, columnist and talk-show host Pooja Bedi, and Bollywood actor Gul Panag made an appearance at several of the fashion shows, liking immensely the clothes they saw.
So, sounds like a fashion drift to you???Definitely, it does to me..so next time I would suggest that rather than rushing to Mumbai for your next wardrobe, stick to delhi and you are bound to find some really good stuff…
