STRUGGLE FOR LIFE

A small urchin of the wings of fancy,
A little joke of the whims of life,
What was the mistake of that little kid,
Brought in this world and to life?

With no love to speak of,
No friends as such,
How do you think,
He can survive in this world?

He longs for a hand rising in support,
Coming to rescue him from the pain,
To save him from the daily struggle,
To raise him above this world so mundane.

It was never his crime,
It just wasn’t his day.
He just got himself trapped,
In this ruthless and selfish play.

Everyday it claws at his heart,
Drawing away his sleep every night,
His heart is all cut up,
Too damaged to repair.

May be these are words too few,
But I guess I have laid my point,
Whatever the circumstances may be,
Be firmly on his side.

For once, if you have any care for this world,
Lay your hand upon his head for once,
You will see the difference it will make,
In this dreadful life which he goes through everyday.

Just for once, give him some love,
It will keep his spirits buoyed up,
For you and I and all of us know,
Love is what that will one day show.
