....Grace...

A soothing touch,
A tender face,
A bright shine,
So lovely with grace.
Yet so rotund,
Yet so beautiful
The lovely face,
Of serenity in phase.
Still and staring,
As it stands,
Peaking along the branches,
Of ebony with its face.
Beauty personified,
In its very shape,
Yet it stands,
So quiet and vain.
It does seem,
That it may signify,
The feelings in the heart,
Of a lover in pain.
Still and staring,
As it stands,
Giving away,
All you can ever take.
A promise of love,
A vow to make,
An eye of tears,
Yet so lovely with grace..

Closed Doors

As I stood on standing water,
Seperated from people,
I love the most,
Tears rolled down my eyes,
Like little strings of pearls,
As I stood in that lonely night.
I craved for a sound
For a little word,
That I might hear,
Yet all doors seemed to be closed,
To all my futile prayers.
I just wanted to run into,
Those arms that were held wide,
And bury my head,
In some far away depths,
Oblivious to all the facts.
God,don't keep me away,
I can not live without them,
Help me,find my way,
Into those lovely arms,
To rest there,my weary head.
As I lie cold,
I look upon myself,
Had I but found my way,
I might have lived
another day....

GOD, A PUNISHER OF SINS OR………………….

What you believe is a matter of faith. So, do you believe in God? An almighty who wants you to pray, to obey. Who judges your actions and rewards you heaven or hell?
Well I beg to differ. I don’t say that I’m an atheist. But I don’t believe in a judging and rewarding God. I don’t believe that there is a heaven or hell waiting for us when we finish our journey here.
Contrary to ethics and religious beliefs established over the past millennia by preachers and books, which portray God as an entity to be feared and pleased, who can reward you with unending bliss for eternity, my feeling hold a different view. My question is, why were we given a free will if we were to be judged for every action? Why were we created if our actions were to be dictated at every step? I believe what we wish for ourselves is what God wishes for us.
This might look like a lame excuse to some who would claim that this is just an excuse to execute our own will…yet I would say, free will is to be able to take a decision not with fear for reprisal but with the confidence of coming across a new truth in life.
Well there are a lot of theories for creation of life, that eternal second when life burst open its wings in the universe.
God, so expansive in himself wanted a chance to experience himself to be able to look at himself to learn from his experiences, to be able to look at himself through someone else’s eyes, so I believe he created us, to experience himself through different forms, all part of his divine soul, his energy.
Well if you are thinking what I’m leading you to…I’ll say that I want to change that image of God that has been carved and chiseled in the minds of every young child in every religion of the world be it being a christen who believe in eternal damnation to hell if you don’t follow the bible, or the concept of nark in the Hindu mythology, or the jhannums for the Muslims.i want to show that we are not followers of God but a part of his divine being, an unseparatable part of that spiritual soul.
Every religion makes you fear God…I want you to know that God is not to be feared but experienced as a companion who always wants you to be free…. who acts as that inner voice which tells you what to believe and do, when you are in a dilemma.
How many times are you able to hear that voice in yourself that tells you what to do? That ethical voice which tells you right from wrong? What do you believe that is?
THAT IS THE ESSENCE OF GOD IN YOU…that friend of yours which you carry around but not listen to at times because you are shrouded with the affairs of the world. All I would like to say is…
LOVE NOT GOD AS A FEARED ENTITY BUT AS A FRIEND FOR LIFE…

Reservations a known reality, yet ineffective..

With 21% reservation for the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes and 27% for backward classes..welcome to the main stream..Pretty alluring right??
Let me as you a simple question who forms the main stream? You me, everybody reading this arcticle..Give me a frank answer how many of you consider them your equal? How many of you have let them into your heart as your friend, a loved one?
How many of you consider them your equal?
Here reservation isn’t questionable, it is it’s effect, has it really helped the marginalized sections join the main stream? I’ll say that though reservation is a known reality yet it hasn’t been able to fulfill its basic aim.
This reservation, essentially a dragnet of politics, seems to have been made with an overview to promote the marginalized classes, yet without insight into their build up.
The marginalized sections seem to follow the hereditary business hierarchy it being a blacksmith, a weaver or a daily worker. A child when he grows up to be old enough to help is put into same grueling work that his forefathers had been doing. here awareness does play a key role. These people need to be advised educated and made aware that leaving the family business and following an academic carrier will lead to better conditions for living. With more than 80% of the population of the marginalized sections living in the rural areas, how can we say that reservation has been affective?
A survey by the National Sample Survey Organization of India (NSSO) in 1999 showed the percentage of OBC’s to be 35%, which has risen to 41%in the next survey in 2005.
Now, this seems to point to a completely different story…not every OBC or SC, ST is in need of reservation. The increasing percentage seems to points to the fact that people who had taken the benefit of reservation in their time, and had risen to the same financial status like any of us are now promoting their own kids for the same benefit, rather than letting those who really need it take the benefit.
So tell me where is the marginalized section getting the benefit??people among them are themselves marring the efforts of the government to help their brothers just have one suggestion to make, rather than keeping this reservation on the basis of cast, it should be in the basis of economical status so that people who really need help, whatever be their cast or religion are benefited.
May be one of you reading this might one day go on to be the next education minister, so just think about it.

Delhi the new fashion hub of India..

Delhi is moving on to be the next fashion capital of India…with the riot of colors splashed by the wills lifestyle fashion week this September delhi got another bright feather on its cap.
The show featured the likes of the designer duo Nikhil and Shantanu,Rocky S,Neeta Lola ,Anita Dogre,Ashish Pandey and many others…merging together the retro trends of the 60’s to the grace and elegance of the 80’s the show in April covered it all.
Another weeklong extravaganza had opened on the 21st of march with a gala show by designer Malini Ramani and was followed by Aparna Chandra, Manav Gangwani, Siddharth Tytler, Arshiya Fakih, Rabani and Rakha, Anju Modi, Rohit Gandhi, Rahul Khanna, Ritu Kumar, Ranna Gill and Rohit Bal.
The designer Ramani's collection a shift from her usual 'in your face bling' was a toned down overall look, with modifications in everything from the colours and cuts .The designer picked subtle shades of green, spicing these up with patchwork, ribbon embroidery, and appliqué work.
The top designer Rohit Bal's collection 'Koyla', inspired by the extremely precious natural resource, coal, floored the audience at the fashion week with its myriad shades of black, blue and brown splashed with dashes of green and pink.
Everything from short jackets to balloon skirts to long coats, dhotis and pants drew the attention of delhi towards itself.. Further, many celebrity guests like designer duo Meera and Muzaffar Ali, columnist and talk-show host Pooja Bedi, and Bollywood actor Gul Panag made an appearance at several of the fashion shows, liking immensely the clothes they saw.
So, sounds like a fashion drift to you???Definitely, it does to me..so next time I would suggest that rather than rushing to Mumbai for your next wardrobe, stick to delhi and you are bound to find some really good stuff…
